• Auditory-verbal therapy: children and parents attend group therapy 4 days a week as well as individual therapy sessions, which employ the auditory-verbal method. This method aims to enhance hearing skills in order to develop language in a natural way.
• Total–communication: children and parents attend group therapy 4 days a week as well as individual therapy sessions. In this group teachers and parents use signs and lip reading in order to facilitate communication and increase comprehension.
• Sign Language: children and parents receive Mexican Sign Language instruction in 1 hour sessions 2 to 3 times a week. The groups are formed by 2 – 5 children with a parent. Children who attend this group also receive individual therapy to learn to discriminate and identify environmental sounds as well as speech sounds and to develop and improve reading and writing skills.
• Individual therapy for school-aged children: with these children, therapists focus their work on the comprehension and acquisition of concepts and vocabulary needed for each child’s age group. They also work on developing and improving reading and writing skills.
• Audiology monitoring: to make sure that the hearing aids are working and are appropriate for the child’s type and degree of hearing loss.
